Polarity Therapy
Polarity Therapy is a system of energy balancing involving bodywork, counseling, therapeutic exercise and nutrition. It is based on the work of Dr. Randolph Stone who integrated his work as a Naturopath, Osteopath and Chiropractor with the eastern concepts of energy flow found in the Ayurvedic system of India, as well as the Chinese and Egyptian Hermetic System.
A session usually consists of about an hour of hands-on bodywork, involving a series of both light and deep contact to release the energy and allow it to re establish a normal balanced flow. This results in deep relaxation, allowing for a release of tension and chronic pain and providing an opportunity for you to discover more about your mental and emotional blocks and how to develop a healthy attitude toward life.
The counseling process is an integral part of the work and gives you an insight into the causes of your stress and helps you find the key to overcoming problems. Corrective exercises and nutritional advice are an important part of the process.
Most people feel a significant change after just one treatment.
Reflexology
Reflexology is a study of the reflexes of the feet, corresponding to every part of the body. Working on these reflexes eases tension and helps the body find its own equilibrium. If any area of the body deserves your best attention, it is the foot. In the sole of the foot literally thousands of nerve endings are concentrated. The opposite ends of these nerves are located all over the rest of the body. The foot, in effect, is a map of the entire body and no muscle, gland, or organ, whether internal or external, is without a set of nerves whose opposite ends are anchored in the foot.
Congested areas can feel tight and dull to sharp sensations when pressure is applied. Tensions and toxins form within the upper parts of the body and with gravity these toxins tend to flow downward and accumulate within the nerve endings in the feet. Reflexology is a good tension and toxin release.
Nuad Bo-Rarn (Traditional Northern Thai Medical Massage)
This is a unique form of body therapy, dating back at least 2000 years, that incorporates Hatha Yoga and Acupressure. This particular form has been passed down from The Father of Massage ‘Dr. Shivago Komarpaj’, The Doctor of the Buddha.
Gentle rocking, deep stretching and compressions assist the restructuring of the musculo-skeletal framework. Benefits include release of stress and an increase in energy, an improvement to circulation, a strengthening of internal organs and relief from pain. Just as no two people respond to any stimulus in precisely the same way, people vary in their response to Thai Massage. A person who is relaxed, open to growth and new experiences will benefit the most. Someone who is more tense, rigid or fearful will still benefit, but to a lesser degree.
